„Aktion 3.Welt Saar“ unterstützt bundesweiten Appell für Systemwechsel in der Landwirtschaft. Keine Patente auf Pflanzen – Nein zur Gentechnik.

Vor dem Hintergrund der aktuellen Proteste gegen Patente auf Pflanzen
spricht sich die Aktion 3.Welt Saar für einen Systemwechsel in der Landwirtschaftspolitik aus. Zum Erntedankfest 2010 am 3. Oktober bietet sie gemeinsam mit anderen Unterzeichnern ein Sympathieplakat an. Demnach soll die bäuerliche Landwirtschaft das zentrale Leitbild sein. Das Plakat mit dem Aufruf wurde unter anderem unterzeichnet von der „Arbeitsgemeinschaft bäuerliche Landwirtschaft“ (AbL), Brot für die Welt, dem Evangelischen Entwicklungsdienst  (EED), Misereor und der Upländer Bauernmolkerei. Unter der Überschrift „Mut zum Umdenken- Eine zukunftsfähige Landwirtschaft“ setzen sich die Unterzeichner für den Erhalt der bäuerlichen Landwirtschaft und gegen Gentechnik in der Landwirtschaft ein.

Weltweit gibt es über zwei Milliarden Kleinbäuerinnen und –bauern, die die Welt ernähren können. Sie brauchen fairen Zugang zu Land, Wasser, Saatgut, Bildung, lokalen Märkten und faire Preise – weltweit. Für Barbara Hilgers vom Vorstand der Aktion 3.Welt Saar ist es „ein von Menschenhand gemachter  Skandal, dass Menschen verhungern, obwohl genügend Nahrungsmittel vorhanden sind“. Der Grund liegt in der ungleichen Verteilung der Nahrungsmittel. Reichtum, Armut und Hunger sind nicht gottgegeben, sondern werden von Menschen verantwortet. „Bereits der im April 2008 veröffentlichte Weltagrarbericht (www.weltagrarbericht.de) hat festgestellt, dass eine kleinbäuerliche Landwirtschaft in der Lage ist, dauerhaft genügend Nahrungsmittel für alle zu produzieren“, so Hilgers.
