Demonstration zum 20. Todestag von Samuel Yeboah

Am 19.9.1991 wurde Samuel Yeboah, Flüchtling aus Ghana, durch einen rassistischen Brandanschlag in Saarlouis ermordet. Zur Erinnerung findet eine Kundgebung und Demonstration statt:

Aufruf der Demonstration:

"Am 19. September 1991 fiel Samuel Kofi Yeboah in Saarlouis einem
rassistischen Brandanschlag zum Opfer. Er ist eines der ersten Opfer
rassistischer Gewalt in Westdeutschland nach der Wiedervereinigung.
Anlässlich seines nahenden 20. Todestags wollen wir mit einer
Aktionsreihe an Samuel Yeboah, dessen Mörder_innen nie gefasst wurden,
würdig erinnern und den rassistischen Alltag in der Bundesrepublik und
Europa thematisieren.
Wir knüpfen hiermit an Aktivitäten anlässlich des 5., 10. und 15.
Todestags an. Am 10. Todestag hielten mehrere antirassistische Gruppen
eine Gedenkveranstaltung ab, in deren Verlauf am Rathaus in Saarlouis
eine schwere Steinplatte zum Gedenken an Yeboah angebracht wurde. Die
Stadt fühlte sich durch das Gedenken offenbar gestört und prozessierte
sowohl auf straf- als auch auf zivilrechtlichem Weg gegen die Anbringung
der Gedenktafel und bekam vor Gericht Schadensersatz zugesprochen.
Am 15. Todestag setzte sich der „Runde Tisch für ein öffentliches
Gedenken an Samuel Yeboah“ für die Umbenennung der umstrittenen
Lettow-Vorbeck-Straße in Saarlouis in Samuel-Yeboah-Straße ein und
versuchte, eine „würdige Form des öffentlichen Gedenkens“, wie in Mölln
und Solingen zu etablieren.
Wir wollen mit unserer Aktionsreihe an diese Formen des Gedenkens
anknüpfen. Im Rahmen unserer Aktionsreihe rufen wir am 24. September
2011 zu einer Demonstration auf, in Erinnerung an Samuel Yeboah und für
einen progressiven Antirassismus, der nicht nur den Rassismus in der
Gesellschaft, sondern auch die gesellschaftlichen Verhältnisse
kritisiert, die ihn reproduzieren."
