Der saarländische Wirtschaftsminister Christoph Hartmann besucht am Samstag, den 11. Dezember, 14 Uhr, den 12. Allerweltsbasar der Aktion 3.Welt Saar in der historischen Fellenbergmühle (Marienstraße) in Merzig. Die größte Fair Handels Ausstellung in der Region ist unter dem Motto "Fair schenken" am Samstag, 11.Dezember und Sonntag, 12. Dezember, jeweils von 10 - 18 Uhr geöffnet. "Entwicklungshilfe bedeutet nicht, Menschen in ärmeren Ländern Almosen zukommen zu lassen und so ihre Abhängigkeit von der ersten Welt zu zementieren. Vielmehr geht es darum, ihnen die Teilhabe am globalen Handel zu ermöglichen und faire Preise zu zahlen. Das ist auch eine Frage der Würde", so kommentiert Christoph Hartmann die Unterstützung seines Ministeriums für diese Fair-Handels-Präsentation.

Genau dies ist auch das Besondere am Fairen Handel: Die Menschen in der so genannten 3. Welt erhalten gerechtere Preise und produzieren ohne ausbeuterische Kinderarbeit und Gentechnik. Also ein menschenwürdigeres Leben statt Almosen für "die da unten". Neben dem Wirtschaftsministerium wird die Veranstaltung der Aktion 3.Welt Saar unterstützt von der Stiftung Demokratie Saarland, dem Evangelischen Entwicklungsdienst (eed), der Fellenbergmühle und der Stadt Merzig.
