Kunsthandwerk und Lebensmittel aus "Fairem Handel" -
Zusätzlich Weltmusik, Schokoladenverkostung und Weinprobe

Ausgefallene Weihnachtsgeschenke aus Fairem Handel und schokoladenhaltige Leckereien gibt es beim 12. Allerweltsbasar der Aktion 3.Welt Saar. Dieses Jahr zeigt sich der Allerweltsbasar gleich doppelt von seiner Schokoladenseite: So gibt es für die Besucher/innen noch eine Verkostung von Zotter-Schokolade. Eine Weinprobe rundet das Angebot ab. Neu ist in diesem Jahr die Präsentation von CD's mit Musik aus Afrika und Südamerika von dem etablierten Weltmusik-Label Putumayo. Die größte Ausstellung mit Produkten aus Fairem Handel zieht jährlich viele Besucher/innen aus dem Saarland, Rheinland-Pfalz und aus Luxemburg nach Merzig. Das Erfolgsprojekt steht unter dem Motto "Fair schenken": Samstag, 11. und Sonntag, 12. Dezember in Merzig: Fellenbergmühle, Marienstraße; jeweils von 10-18 Uhr. Insbesondere die schokoladenhaltigen Leckereien halten erfahrungsgemäß nicht bis Weihnachten.

Das Ambiente der historischen Fellenbergmühle mit ihrem Feinmechanikmuseum gibt auf zwei Etagen den Rahmen ab für die aufwändige Präsentation von exquisiten  Lebensmitteln in Bioqualität, anspruchsvollem Kunsthandwerk und individuell gefertigten Gebrauchsgegenständen aus Fairem Handel. Die Produkte kommen aus Afrika, Asien und Südamerika: Geschenkideen zum Verwöhnen, für sich selbst und zum Weiterschenken. Der Allerweltsbasar ist eine Veranstaltung der Aktion 3.Welt Saar und wird gefördert von dem Ministerium für Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft in Saarbrücken, der Stiftung Demokratie Saarland, dem Evangelischen Entwicklungsdienst (eed), der Fellenbergmühle und der Stadt Merzig. Das Besondere am Fairen Handel: Die Menschen in der so genannten 3. Welt erhalten gerechtere Preise und produzieren ohne ausbeuterische Kinderarbeit und Gentechnik. Also ein menschenwürdigeres Leben statt Almosen für "die da unten".
