Aktion 3.Welt Saar begrüßt Beschluss von CDU und Grünen: Exponate sollen wissenschaftlich professionell aufbereitet werden

„Ich finde den Beschluss von CDU und Grünen im Stadtrat Saarbrücken, die Exponate von Heinz Rox Schulz einem professionellen Museum zur Verfügung zu stellen, vernünftig.“ So kommentiert Gertrud Selzer vom Vorstand der Aktion 3.Welt Saar die Debatte um die Sammlung des Abenteurers Heinz Rox Schulz.

Dort besteht die Möglichkeit, die Exponate fachlich aufzubereiten und sie der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich zu machen. Genau dies war im Abenteuermuseum Saarbrücken nicht der Fall. Mitarbeiter/innen der Aktion 3.Welt Saar haben das Museum mehrfach besucht. „Dort wurde primär durch die Brille des Exotismus geschaut. Es ging dabei nicht darum, die Menschen in anderen Kulturen der Welt auf Augenhöhe darzustellen, sondern die eigene Kultur als die Beste und andere Kulturen als irgendwie seltsam, irrational und exotisch hinzustellen. Es fehlte jegliche Einbettung der Exponate in einen kulturellen und historischen Zusammenhang“, so Selzer. Ohne dies aber wird der Blick auf andere Menschen in anderen Kontinenten von einem voyeuristischen, kolonialen Unterton getragen, der dazu dient, die vermeintliche Überlegenheit der „Weißen Kultur“ zu zementieren.

Der Vorschlag des Parteipolitikers Jürgen Trenz von „Die Linke“, das Abenteuermuseum im Gondwana-Park aufzubauen bringt das leider in dieser Gesellschaft immer noch vorhandene Menschenbild, wenn auch ungewollt, auf den Punkt: Andere Kulturen und andere Menschen, die man nicht versteht, stellt man als prähistorisch und im Zusammenhang mit „wilden Tieren“ dar.

Gertrud Selzer hat an der Universität Trier Ethnologie, Sinologie und klassisches Chinesisch studiert. Bei der Aktion 3.Welt Saar beschäftigt sie sich mit Rassismus, Kolonialismus und mit Afrikabildern. Zuletzt hat sie Anfang Februar an einer Lehrerfortbildung an der Universität Mainz zum Thema „Afrikabilder“ mitgewirkt und referiert.
